Frequently Asked Questions
Not only are gaps under your fence unsightly, especially on sloping ground, gaps under your fence can create many visual and structural problems, which can even lead to friction between neighbours. We designed Fence Finish® Trim Panels to not only finish your fence properly and make it look great, we also made them to fix the problems that come from having gaps under your Colorbond® fence.
Fence Finish® Trim Panels can be installed on fences along gardens and buried into the ground or easily trimmed to sit over paving to create a barrier to solve the following (but not only) issues:
- let your sand wash out from your garden or from under your paving to your neighbours yard.
- lets your neighbour's garden soil and paving sand wash into your yard.
- lets your pets see under your fence giving them an attractive escape route
- lets pests into your yard
- lets rubbish into your yard
Fence Finish® Trim Panels can provide you with the solution to all these issues and more, saving you money, time and giving you peace of mind like no other solution can.
Fence Finish® Trim Panels are made to simply hook onto the bottom rail of your fence and fit between the rail and fence posts and are fully secured using the existing tek screws already on your fence. That means there are no extra screws or fixings to buy which leaves you with a nice, designer clean, streamlined look to the bottom of your fence.
Fence Finish® Trim Panels are made from the same Colorbond® materials your gutters and roofing are made from. We use these materials over the fencing materials for their extra studiness and durability. Unfortunately some fence colours are not available in the roofing and guttering range of materials. If your fence is made from a 'fence only' colour, the good thig is there are plenty of alternative colours you can use to complement your fence, or you can choose a different colour to give your fence a designer accent. Ask us for more info.
If you don't know what colour your fence is, pop on out to your local Bunnings or paint store and pick up a few colour matching cards for Colorbond® colours, they are spot on for colour matching.

Fence Finish® Trim Panels are made to fit a standard Colorbond® fence panel width of 2350mm to 2400mm between fence posts. They can be easily trimmed using tin snips for shorter length fence sections. We also can make longer where required for longer fence panel sections. See here for how to measure your fence sections Our standard Trim Panels have an overall height of 200mm, giving a projection of 150mm below the bottom of the rail. We can also supply sizes from 100mm to 300mm+ and also custom profiles for special situations.
HOW TO WORK OUT WHAT HEIGHT TRIM PANELS YOU NEED:
- To determine the panel size you require, allow 50mm (rail width) + the largest gap on the fence section + 50mm minimum to bury in the ground.
- If your ground level is a different height to your neighbours', allow minimum 50mm to bury in the ground on the lower side (larger height difference can change the amount to be buried)
- As an example, a common size used is 200mm, which gives a projection of 150mm below the bottom most edge of the fence. This will cover a gap of 100mm (10cm).
We designed our Trim Panels to be very easy to fit to your fence and the best part is, you don't need to pull your fence apart to fit Fence Finish® Trim Panels!
